Chevrolet unveils the Aveo show car and the new Cruze which highlight many of the more affordable small cars from GM that now have new car incentives that make them more affordable for a bad credit car loan
Helping bad credit customers
At Auto Net Financial we realize that most bad credit car loan consumers end up purchasing a used car, in part due to the affordability factor. We’ve also spent a number of years focusing on consumers with bad credit and helping these same customers raise their FICO scores and reestablish their car credit by financing a vehicle with a bad credit auto loan.
With the Detroit Auto Show starting this week, we are reminded of the fact that although financial considerations usually dictate that a majority of vehicles purchased with these types of loans are used cars, there are a number of affordable new cars that also qualify for many of these bad credit car loan programs. Chevrolet recently unveiled a show car based on its most affordable model, the Aveo, as well as a new car, the Cruze, that is due to hit dealer showrooms this spring.
This reminded us that General Motors is among those manufacturers who sell a number of new models that fit the bill for bad credit auto loan consumers in two important respects: many of them are priced right and they come with a comprehensive new car warranty.
Chevy new car incentives
Two of the most affordable vehicles that GM sells are the subcompact Chevrolet Aveo and the compact Chevrolet Cobalt. Both cars come with the company’s 36 month 36,000 mile comprehensive warranty plus a 5-year 100,000-mile powertrain warranty that covers the engine, transmission, transfer case and axle assembly on light duty vehicles.
For the month of January, all new 2009 Aveo and Aveo5 models are eligible for $1,500 in dealer cash, no matter what a customer’s credit score might be. Considering the Aveo’s sub-$12,000 starting price, this customer cash, which can also be used toward the down payment of a bad credit auto loan, makes the gas-sipper even more of a bargain.
A new 2009 Cobalt qualifies for $3,000 in customer cash, while buyers of the 2010 Cobalt Coupe XFE, the high-mileage model with a base price of $15,710, are eligible for $2,000 in customer cash. Again, these deals are not dependent on a customer’s FICO score and most bad credit lenders will allow at least a portion of the cash to be counted towards a down payment.
The Bottom Line
Even if your credit score falls into the bad credit range, you can still qualify for the consumer cash offered on these Chevrolet vehicles, which will help lower the monthly payment and the overall finance costs of a bad credit auto loan.
